The Buzzard Café

One of the biggest things to happen in 2013 was the opening of our Interpretation Centre and the popular Buzzard Café. Situated at the back of the Pitscurry site, the café looked out over the gardens from the top of the hill and gave a lovely view of Bennachie in the distance. In 2025 the Interpretation Center was turned into a small bakery. Both the café and the gardens provided work experience to service users at the Pitscurry Project.

Sadly the Café is no longer operating. The Aberdeenshire Integration Joint Board decided to make budget savings by closing the café from 26/06/2025. The gardens are still there and continue to provide vegetables and flowers to local businesses, but there is now no public access.

Thanks to all the companies and charitable organisations that donated considerable time and money to make the Buzzard Café a success.

Thanks to all our wonderful customers over the years and everyone behind the scenes who helped to run it - especially our servers.

Parking, Pets & Children

There is a visitor car park at the top of the site and a limited number of disabled parking spaces right outside the café itself. We regret that dogs are not allowed on the site. Children are most welcome but must be kept under adult supervision at all times.

The Buzzard Café Menu

You can view the current menu here. Please note that we serve lunches until 2pm and tea and cakes until 2:30pm, this gives us time to clean and tidy before closing at 3pm sharp.

We look forward to your first visit!
